Personal Care Assistance — bathing, dressing & mobility.

Personal care is the most intimate work we do — and the work that earns trust fastest. Deedra personally matches the caregiver to the family, and the same caregiver returns week after week. Why Personal Care Goes Wrong Elsewhere

Personal care is intimate work — and most agencies get it wrong.

When the help is rushed, rotating, or impersonal, your loved one stops asking for it. Then small problems become falls, infections, and emergency rooms. Here's where it goes sideways.

01

Rotating caregivers

A new face every week destroys the trust personal care depends on. Your loved one shouldn't have to re-explain how they like their shower to a stranger.

02

Rushed visits

Agencies that book 30-minute slots can't actually do dignified personal care. We block real time — and we don't watch the clock.

03

Untrained on the person

A caregiver who knows the textbook but doesn't know your loved one is barely better than no caregiver. We match for fit, not just availability.

04

Hidden upcharges

"Personal care" at chain agencies often unlocks add-on fees for bathing, transfers, or incontinence. With us, it's all in the same hourly rate.

Personal Care
What You Get

Mornings that feel ordinary again.

Personal care, done right, fades into the background of a good day. Your loved one is bathed, dressed, fed, and comfortable — and the family stops worrying about whether someone showed up.

Same Caregiver, Every Visit

Deedra matches one caregiver to your family. The person who walks in Monday is the person who walks in Friday. That continuity is the entire point.

Real Time, Not Stopwatched

Personal-care visits are blocked long enough to do the work calmly. Showers don't get skipped because the next client is waiting.

Owner Picks Up the Phone

When something shifts — a fall, a hospital stay, a bad day — you call us directly. Not a dispatcher.

What's Included

Every personal-care visit includes

No upsells, no surprise add-ons. Personal care at one hourly rate, with the full scope written into your care plan before any first visit.

  • Bathing, showering, and bed baths
  • Dressing and undressing
  • Hair washing, brushing, and grooming
  • Oral and denture care
  • Toileting and incontinence support
  • Skin care and pressure-area checks
  • Transfer assistance (bed, chair, walker, wheelchair)
  • Gentle range-of-motion and mobility support
  • Medication reminders (we don't administer)
  • Light meal prep around the visit
  • Tidying the bathroom and changing linens
  • Written daily note for the family

Common Questions

Answers before you ask.

The questions families ask most about personal care. Don't see yours? Call Us Now directly at 310-415-3129.

Yes. We start slow — bench, grab bars, dry-method first if they want — and build trust before water. Your caregiver will never push past what your loved one is comfortable with.
Absolutely. It's part of personal care for many of our clients and it's handled with complete discretion. No upcharge, no embarrassment.
We provide medication reminders — we don't administer. For skilled nursing tasks like IVs, injections, or wound care, we coordinate with the home-health nurse or hospice team your loved one already has.
Common patterns: 4–8 hours a week for help with mornings, 12–20 hours a week for daily bathing and dressing, or full-day care for higher-need clients. We build to fit — there's no minimum.
We keep it simple: streamlined private-pay, with a clear hourly rate and no surprise fees. Many families also use long-term-care insurance — we provide the documentation your carrier needs. Call us and we’ll walk through what fits.

Why Companionship Gets Underestimated

Loneliness is medical — and most families wait too long.

Social isolation accelerates dementia, depression, and physical decline faster than almost any single chronic condition. Yet companionship is the service most families add last — usually after something goes wrong.

01

"They're fine alone" — until they aren't

The first sign of decline is often quiet — fewer phone calls, less appetite, a TV that's always on. By the time family notices, months have passed.

02

Phone calls aren't enough

A 20-minute call from across the country is love, but it isn't presence. Real-time, in-person company is what protects cognition and mood.

03

Friends and family get tired

Family caregivers burn out. Volunteer visitors flake. Paid companionship is the only reliably consistent presence in many seniors' lives.

04

Chains assign rotating faces

Companionship only works when there's continuity. A new stranger every week is barely better than being alone.

Companionship
What You Get

A friend on the calendar. Every week.

The caregiver becomes part of the week. Your loved one looks forward to the visit. You can tell within a month whether it's working — and with us, it works.

A Familiar Face

Same caregiver. Same day. Same time. We protect that continuity ferociously.

Real Conversation

Not check-the-box scripted prompts — actual presence, actual stories, actual interest.

Activities That Matter

Walks, gardens, card games, music, scrapbooking, church, lunch out. Whatever your loved one cares about.

What's Included

Companionship visits include

Companionship hours are the most flexible thing we do — but here's what shows up reliably in every visit.

  • Conversation and presence
  • Hobbies, games, music, reading aloud
  • Walks around the house or yard
  • Supervised outings — park, library, lunch
  • Help staying connected to family (video calls, photos, letters)
  • Reassurance and orientation for memory-loss clients
  • Watchful company during high-risk hours (evenings, post-meal)
  • Light tidying woven naturally into the visit
  • Snack prep and hydration reminders
  • Help with phone and TV when needed
  • Faith-friendly companionship if your family wants it
  • Written daily note for the family

Common Questions

Answers before you ask.

The questions families ask most about companionship. Don't see yours? Call Us Now directly at 310-415-3129.

Most families book 2–4 hour blocks, two to four times a week. Some build to full days. There's no minimum visit length, but visits shorter than 2 hours rarely build the kind of connection that makes companionship work.
Yes — that's our entire model. Deedra matches one primary caregiver, and a pre-introduced backup for sick days. Your loved one never opens the door to a stranger.
Absolutely. Supervised outings are part of companionship care. Mileage may apply for longer trips — we'll discuss it up front.
Yes — and it's especially valuable. Consistent presence from a familiar caregiver reduces anxiety, slows decline, and gives family a reliable status update on how their loved one is doing.
No. Companionship is non-medical — presence, conversation, light activity, supervision. If your loved one also needs hands-on personal care or medical support, we bundle that in. Call us and we'll sort out what you need.

Why Housekeeping Slips First

When the house starts going, the person isn't far behind.

Dishes pile up. Laundry pools on the chair. Mail stacks on the table. It looks like clutter — but it's almost always a signal that everyday tasks have become too much. That's where we step in.

01

Cleaning services don't do care

A cleaning crew rotates, doesn't know your loved one, and works around them. We weave housekeeping into care visits — naturally, gently, by someone they trust.

02

Falls happen in cluttered homes

Loose rugs, piles by the stairs, wet bathroom floors. Light housekeeping isn't cosmetic — it's fall prevention.

03

Laundry gets behind

Soiled sheets, unwashed clothes, dirty towels — small things that pile into big-deal hygiene problems. We catch them before they become medical.

04

Pride gets in the way of asking

Many seniors won't admit the house has slipped. A caregiver they know can handle it without making a thing of it.

Light Housekeeping
What You Get

A home that stays a home.

Light housekeeping isn't deep cleaning. It's the steady upkeep that lets a home stay livable — done by someone your loved one is comfortable having in their space.

Woven Into the Visit

Housekeeping happens during care hours, naturally — not as a separate billable line. While breakfast is cooking, the dishes go in.

Same Caregiver, Same Standard

Your caregiver knows where things go, how your mom likes the towels folded, which detergent your dad reacts to. The home gets cared for the way family would.

Discreet and Respectful

We work around your loved one's pace and routine. Nothing gets thrown out, rearranged, or "organized" without asking.

What's Included

Every housekeeping visit covers

This is light, ongoing upkeep — not deep cleaning, heavy lifting, or yard work. If your loved one needs a deep clean, we can refer to a trusted partner.

  • Dishes and kitchen tidying
  • Counter wipe-down and stovetop cleaning
  • Laundry (wash, dry, fold, put away)
  • Linen changes and bed-making
  • Light dusting in common areas
  • Vacuuming and sweeping high-traffic spaces
  • Bathroom freshening (sink, toilet, surfaces)
  • Trash and recycling out to the bin
  • Mail sorted and bills set aside for family
  • Refrigerator wipe-down and expired-food check
  • Tidying living spaces and clearing fall hazards
  • Written daily note for the family

Common Questions

Answers before you ask.

The questions families ask most about light housekeeping. Don't see yours? Call Us Now directly at 310-415-3129.

No. We're caregivers who tidy as part of care — not a cleaning crew. The benefit is continuity: the same person who helps with bathing or meals also keeps the home running. If you need a deep clean, we can refer to a partner.
No — that's outside the scope of light housekeeping. We focus on the daily upkeep that makes the home safer and more livable. For deep cleans or seasonal work, we'll refer you out.
Never without asking. We work around your loved one's preferences and pace. If something looks like it should go, we ask the family first.
Yes. Some families book caregivers primarily for housekeeping + companionship — especially when the loved one is still mostly independent and just needs help with the household upkeep.
Generally no. We do laundry in the home, on your loved one's machines, with their detergent. It keeps the home self-sufficient.

Why Transportation Becomes the Crisis

When the keys go, the rest of the week unravels.

Losing the car keys is one of the hardest moments in aging — and it cascades fast. Missed appointments. Empty fridges. Prescriptions that run out. Church missed. Friends not seen. Erosion starts in the week the driving stopped.

01

Rideshare isn't real transportation

Uber and Lyft don't help your loved one into the car, carry their groceries, or sit with them in the cardiologist's waiting room. We do all three.

02

Family burnout starts here

Adult children taking off work for every doctor visit isn't sustainable. Errand support is often the first reason families call us.

03

Missed appointments aren't recoverable

An oncology follow-up missed by 3 weeks isn't "just rescheduled" — it's a real consequence. Reliable transportation prevents that.

04

Independence gets killed by logistics

Most seniors don't lose independence to one big medical event — they lose it to a hundred small logistical failures. We fix the logistics.

Errands & Transportation
What You Get

A week that still happens.

Groceries arrive. Prescriptions stay filled. Doctors get seen. Church gets attended. Your loved one keeps the rhythm of their life — with help, not without it.

With Them or For Them

Some clients want the outing — the trip to Publix, the chat with the pharmacist. Others want it handled. We do both. Your loved one's preference.

Bags Carried In, Receipts on the Counter

Errands don't end at the curb. We carry it in, put it away, and leave the receipt where you'll see it.

Coordination with Family

We log every errand, every appointment, every spend — and family can see it. No mystery transactions, no "where did the money go."

What's Included

Errand and transportation visits include

Mileage for longer trips may apply — we'll discuss it up front, and it's modest. No surge pricing, no per-stop fees.

  • Grocery shopping (with them or for them)
  • Pharmacy pick-ups and prescription runs
  • Rides to doctor, dentist, and specialist appointments
  • Help into and out of the car (safely, every time)
  • Sitting in the waiting room and the exam room when wanted
  • Bank, post office, and DMV runs
  • Hair, nail, and personal appointments
  • Church and Sunday school transportation
  • Lunch out, friend visits, social outings
  • Help carrying everything in
  • Receipt logging for family review

Common Questions

The questions families ask most about errands & transportation. Don't see yours? Call Us Now directly at 310-415-3129.

Yes. The caregiver waits, helps her in and out of the office, and — if she wants — sits in the room and takes notes. We can also call you with what the doctor said, with her permission.
We include local errands in the hourly rate. For longer trips (40+ miles round trip) we add a modest per-mile rate, discussed up front. No surge pricing, no surprise fees.
Yes. We work with the pharmacy on file and coordinate with family. We don't handle controlled substances without specific written authorization.
Absolutely. Some clients book 2 hours a week purely for errands and a chat over coffee — and that's enough. There's no minimum service package.
Local errands and rides are simply part of the visit — one clear hourly rate, private pay. Longer trips get a modest per-mile rate discussed up front. No surge pricing, no surprise fees.

Why Eating Habits Slip Quietly

Weight loss is often the first sign — and the most missed.

Seniors and special-needs adults who live alone or with overwhelmed caregivers stop eating well long before anyone notices. The result is muscle loss, falls, infections, and hospitalizations that could have been prevented at the kitchen table.

01

Meal-delivery boxes pile up uneaten

Frozen meals delivered to the door rarely get heated. The person doesn't want them, can't read the labels, or doesn't know they arrived. We cook in the home, in real time.

02

Diet restrictions get ignored

Low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, soft-texture, puréed — most agencies don't actually accommodate these. We plan menus around them.

03

Mealtime is also social time

Eating alone is one of the strongest predictors of poor nutrition. Our caregivers sit with your loved one through the meal.

04

Cooking becomes dangerous

Forgotten stovetops, fires, scalds — when cooking becomes a safety risk, families panic. Meal prep solves the safety problem without taking the kitchen away.

Meal Prep
What You Get

Warm meals, eaten with company.

The fridge stays stocked. The meals match the diet. Your loved one eats because someone made it for them — and sat with them while they did.

Cooked in the Home

We cook in your loved one's kitchen, on their pans, with their preferences. The smell, the sound, the warmth — that matters.

Diet-Aware Planning

Diabetic, cardiac, low-sodium, soft-texture, puréed, or simply favorite — we plan the menu around what their body and tastes need.

Mealtime Company

The caregiver sits with your loved one through the meal. Hydration, conversation, second helpings if wanted. Eating alone is not part of the plan.

Yes — and we build menus around the diet. If your loved one's doctor or dietician has guidance, we follow it. We don't pretend to be dietitians, but we cook to a plan well.
That's the whole point of our same-caregiver model. After a week or two, your caregiver knows what your loved one wants for breakfast without asking, and how they take their coffee.
Yes. Some families book caregivers for 2–3 visits a week purely for meal prep and mealtime company. It's often the highest-leverage hours we provide.
Yes. For clients with significant feeding needs (post-stroke, advanced dementia, certain disabilities), our caregivers are trained in safe feeding and pacing. We coordinate with any speech therapist or feeding plan in place.
We sit with them and keep them company through the meal — that's part of the visit. We don't generally eat the food we're preparing for the client, but we can make tea or coffee for ourselves so the meal feels like the social event it should be.

Founder · Deedra

Care that feels like family.

I’m Deedra Heredia — owner and founder of Heart to Home Care, and the person who answers the phone when you call. Our story begins with a simple but profound belief: every individual deserves to age or heal with dignity, comfort, and compassion in the sanctuary of their own home.

I’ve spent more than five years in professional home care as a Certified Nurse Assistant, with specialties in dementia, quadriplegia, postpartum, and trachea care. Inviting a caregiver into your home takes immense trust — which is why we provide not just physical assistance, but emotional warmth and genuine companionship.

Alongside our care manager Rosalyn Heredia — a CNA who is CPR and First Aid certified and oversees every care plan and family relationship — our mission is simple: lift the burden off family caregivers, give you real peace of mind, and deliver the heartfelt, professional care your loved ones truly deserve.

Timeline

Our story, so far.

From neighborhood help to a Los Angeles agency that says yes to the families other agencies turn away. The standard hasn't changed.

Before

Caring as a calling.

Years before there was an agency, Deedra was the one neighbors called — the one family asked, the one who said yes when others said no.

2024

Heart to Home Care opens.

Deedra founds Heart to Home Care to serve Los Angeles families who need consistent, compassionate home care — including the loved ones other agencies turn away.

Today

Across the 310.

Serving Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, and the surrounding South Bay communities — Torrance, Inglewood, Culver City, Santa Monica, and the towns in between. The same standard, every visit.

Our Values

Three things we won't compromise.

Home care is full of shortcuts families never see — until something goes wrong. We don't take them. Here's what that looks like in practice.

Consistency

The same caregiver, week after week. Background-checked, bonded, and matched to your family — not assigned from a rotating pool. The person who shows up Monday is the person who shows up Friday.

Compassion

We treat every client the way we'd want our own mother, father, or child treated — with respect, patience, kindness, and dignity. Always.

Yes

We take the complex cases many agencies decline — dementia, quadriplegia, trachea care, postpartum recovery. If you’ve been told “no” somewhere else, call us first.

FAQ

Common Questions.

Quick answers to the questions homeowners and property owners ask most often. Don't see yours? Call Us Now directly.

For most families, care begins within a few days of our first phone call. Urgent situations — a hospital discharge, a respite emergency — we can often turn around in 24–48 hours. We never make a family wait when waiting isn't safe.
Yes. CA Licensed, bonded, and fully insured. Every caregiver is Level-2 background-checked under California AHCA standards. Certificates of insurance are available to every family before care begins — just ask.
We’re a streamlined private-pay service — one clear hourly rate, a simple invoice, and no bureaucracy standing between your family and care. If you carry long-term-care insurance, we’ll provide the documentation for reimbursement. And ask about our Referral Bonus Program — we thank you for every family you send our way.
Yes — that's our whole model. Deedra matches one primary caregiver to your family, and a pre-introduced backup for sick days. Your loved one never opens the door to a stranger. If a fit isn't right, we re-match — quickly and without drama.
Our caregivers are W-2 employees of Heart to Home Care — not 1099 contractors. That means we set the standard, we pay payroll taxes and workers' comp, and we own the quality of every visit. Deedra personally vets and matches every caregiver to every family.
